LEXUS LUXURY COUPE LC 500 GRABS ATTENTION FOR DESIGN EXCELLENCE

Alluring, expressively designed performance coupe defines a new era for the global luxury brand

Within a year of its launch LC 500, the luxury coupe from Lexus has grabbed attention again becoming a finalist among 2018 Motor Trend Car of the Year. For Lexus it has been a journey that began with the LFA that culminated in the LC 500, the pinnacle of Lexus inspiration and vision, cutting edge technology, daring design, master craftsmanship, exhilarating performance. The LC 500 is the first ever luxury automobile to feature a 10-speed automatic transmission. Powered by high-revving 5.0-liter V8 engine, the luxury coupe is also the first Lexus to use the brand’s all-new, premium rear-wheel-drive luxury platform, which promises enhanced dynamic capability and performance. Earlier the LC had grabbed two awards for design excellence on its debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The provocative, athletic flagship car bagged the 2016 EyesOn Design Award for Design Excellence in the Production Car category and for Interior Design. The design of the LC 500 shares many of the key elements, proportions and visual dynamism of the LF-LC concept car. The challenge for Lexus designers was to work in conjunction with the engineers to find new ways to redefine the Lexus design style with dynamic design and advanced technology.
