ARABIA CSR NETWORK HONORS ALSAYER WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

Region’s leading CSR organization announced 29 awards conferred on most sustainability-focused government, public and private entities in the Arab World

ALSAYER Holding was bestowed with CSR award as 1st runner-up in large business category at an Awards event at Dubai in the presence of H.E. Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al-Qasimi – Chairman – Department of Civil Aviation – Ras Al Khaimah. This event was the 11th cycle of Arabia CSR Awards out of hundreds of entries, 29 organizations were selected by an elite panel of 6 judges as the most sustainability-oriented entities in the region.

The ceremony was attended by Hamad Musaed Al Sayer CEO ALSAYER Franchisee and Vice Chairman of the ALSAYER Sustainability and Corporate Excellence Committee, Eng. Nehad Al-Haj, Deputy Group Manager Corporate Excellence along with Naser Mohammad Al Sayer and Hamad Ibrahim Al-Fouzan Member who are members of the ALSAYER Sustainability and Corporate Excellence Committee.

Our efforts are constantly towards leading by example in terms of excellent service, quality products and sustainable business to enhance community and customer satisfaction and at the same time securing a safe and productive workplace.”

The winners, submitted a thorough comprehensive online application and supporting documents, and evidences, towards their contribution in areas of Nature, Society, Economy, Employee wellbeing, governance responsible growth and other best practices. The submission from the Governmental bodies, public and private sector companies, social enterprises and non-profit organizations of all sizes and activities were feature among the finalists.

Speaking about the evolution of the Arabia CSR Awards, Arabia CSR Network President and CEO Habiba Al Mar’ashi commented “For the past decade and more, we have put every effort to make it the pertinent and relevant CSR/sustainability awards as per the best industry standards, fit to attract all sizes and nature of organizations across the Arab world. The evolving nature of the awards makes it a platform that keeps up with changing trends and emerging issues.”

The annual Arabia CSR Awards mobilizes organizations across the Gulf, Levant and North Africa to compete with regional counterparts in the field of corporate sustainability. Twelve size based and sector specific awards categories, offer a range of organizations to participate. The criteria of the awards, based on global benchmarks such as the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Principles, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model, makes it one of the most rigorous CSR awards in the region. in keeping with the linguistic diversity of the Region, applications can be submitted in English, Arabic or French.

Nehad Al-Haj of ALSAYER Holding Corporate Excellence said “across several dimensions we scored outstanding ratings that contributed to winning this award. Applications to the awards in 2018 were submitted by organizations from 10 Arab countries, representing 39 sectors. Among the applicants were regional industry leaders, global players, local businesses, SMEs and start-ups. From the 108 of organizations that applied this year, 29 made the final cut.

We acknowledge their efforts to conduct business responsibly and ethically, to contribute to society, and to respect the concerns of their stakeholders.
