ALSAYER Honors Winners at KNRC Awards Ceremony

Backed by ALSAYER Group as the strategic sponsor, the Kuwait National Robotics Competition (KNRC) hosted their major robotics competition over the course of a week from February 1st to the 8th, and with the final ceremony being on the 11th of February 2026 in the Kuwait University Conference Center, across Kuwait and diverse age categories. This event was held under the presence of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, The President of Kuwait University Dina Al-Mailem, Director General of the Public Youth Authority Nasser Al-Sheikh, and the Acting Dean of the College of Science at Kuwait University Dr. Haider Behbehani. The awards ceremony highlighted the incredible skills and passions students have in robotics. ALSAYER Group was proud to see their partnership with KNRC in dedicating and advancing hands-on education in science, technology, and innovation.

The championship features four main contests: VEX IQ Robotics Competition, VEX V5 Robotics Competition, Drones Competition, and Seaperch Competition. These categories provide students with opportunities to expand their skills in engineering, programming, and teamwork while tackling challenges that mirror real-world applications of technology.

Throughout the competition students were able to showcase their skills through various challenges, displaying their innovative problem-solving skills during a match and their teamwork when communicating with their teammates. These activities allowed students to express themselves in the best way possible, allowing them to learn soft skills like organizations, teamwork, communication, and leadership.

Ibrahim Al-Fouzan, Senior Business Director at ALSAYER, said: “We are concluding an important milestone in the fourth season of the Kuwait National Robotics Competition, and we celebrate the integration of efforts in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The innovative solutions we have witnessed reflect our rising generation’s awareness of the tools of the age and its ability to use them to create the future. Dr. Haider Behbehani, Acting Dean of the College of Science at Kuwait University, noted that the competition paves the way for student teams to showcase their skills and talents under tough conditions, where they will have to rely on their ability and teamwork with their peers. “These contests revealed remarkable levels of innovation, collaboration, and structured thinking,” Behbehani said, pointing to the VEX Robotics and Aerial Drones categories as clear demonstrations of students’ expanding skills.

Eng. Nehad AlHaj Ali, Group Manager of the Corporate Excellence Department at ALSAYER Group, emphasized that “the competitive nature of this event truly highlighted the intelligent young minds of the future and their ability to collaborate, coordinate, design, and develop effective technological solutions in a highly pressurized environment. Seeing these young people programming robots and racing hydrogen cars gives us confidence that Kuwait’s technological future is in good hands and bright minds.”
