ALSAYER Group and The College of Science at Kuwait University host the Teachers Orientation Program for the Hydrogen Vehicle Race Championship

ALSAYER Group announced, as a strategic partner and a part of its commitment to supporting education, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainability, the start of the journey of the Horizon Educational Hydrogen Vehicle Racing Championship, the H2 Grand Prix. This was organized by Kuwait Universities College of Science and the global institution Horizon Educational.

This hosting initiative is part of ALSAYER Group’s CSR initiatives and part of an educational program implemented by Kuwait University, represented by the College of Science, in partnership with the private sector and state institutions. It is carried out in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Petroleum, led by Dr. Omar Al-Ali, who heads Kuwait University’s team in the championship, and Engineer Abdullah Al-Mukhyal, the technical trainer and supervisor of the participating teams, along with the Public Authority for Youth.

The program aims to qualify teachers and trainers responsible for preparing students, equipping them with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to train their student teams for the championship. This includes concepts of clean energy, hydrogen fuel cell technologies, engineering design, and teamwork.

Dean Haidar Behbehani emphasized that hosting this program aligns with the mission of the college and the Department of Computer Science to connect academic learning with practical application, empowering educators to transfer modern expertise and knowledge to students. This contributes to preparing a generation that is aware of sustainable energy issues and capable of competing in regional and international forums.

Additionally, Mr. Mohamed Naser Al-Sayer, Executive Board Member and Chairman of the sustainability committee at ALSAYER Group stated that it is a pleasure to partner with Kuwait University’s College of Science and Horizon Educational to promote the development of practical skills in engineering, innovation, design, and teamwork. Through this workshop session, the teachers will be able to translate these skills to the students, highlighting a culture focused on growth and development.

Dr. Nora Al-Juraij further explained that the Teachers Orientation Program represents a pivotal stage in the regional championship system, scheduled for April. It ensures that trainers are ready to guide students through the stages of design, construction, and testing, leading to active participation in the races. This enhances the quality of educational outcomes and fulfills the program’s objectives.

Eng. Nehad AlHaj Ali, Group Manager of the Corporate Excellence department at ALSAYER Group noted that the training the teachers is a crucial step in ensuring the success of the students to reach to the championships in April. This will guarantee a higher success rate for students, as the trainers have been equipped with important information from Horizon Educational and time to experiment with the best models. At ALSAYER Group we believe supporting initiatives from start to finish will sufficiently support the teachers and students learning about design thinking, engineering, programming, and development. These are the key skills that we strive to showcase in our workplace and beyond.

By empowering teachers to guide students through design, construction, and testing, the program strengthens educational outcomes and supports Kuwait University’s mission to connect academic learning with real‑world innovation. It also reflects ALSAYER Group’s commitment to sustainability and preparing a new generation ready to compete on the regional and international stage.
