As part of its commitment towards environment initatives, ALSAYER Holding has partnered with Kuwait Institute for Science Research (KISR) for 2nd consecutive year to sponsor Al-Liyah rehabilitation of the desert ecosystem field open day event in Al-Liyah preserved area in Kuwait “Planting Today for a Brighter Tomorrow” under the patronage of Al-Jahra Governor, Lietenant General (ret.) Fahad Ahmmad Al-Ameer.
The involvement of school students in addition to governmental and public environmentalists in the plantation of more than 2000 native plants is the main objective of this event.
According to Eng. Ibrahim Al-Fouzan, Vice Chairman of CSR Committee at ALSAYER “We appreciate step in rehabilitation of the Al Liyah area initiated by KISR in cooperation with the public sector represented by the General Authority for the Environment. I thank members of KISR for their efforts to address environment challenges in the State of Kuwait and holding the event to impart the importance of the environment and the natural ecosystem in the minds of young people in an entertaining way.”
The rehabilitation of the natural vegetation in the Al-Liyah refilled quarries had required tremendous efforts done by KISR. The efforts included native plant production, reintroduction and plantation of certain species. Thousands of native plants were produced and maintained through proper care, addressing different protection measures against sand storms, different irrigation methods, and protection of the soil erosion.
